In the last month, Your Hometown Stations has covered three accidents at this intersection. Two injury accidents on May 15th and 17th and this non-injury accident Friday morning. A Kia was traveling north on Pierce when it failed to yield to a Ford SUV resulting in both vehicles sustaining moderate damage.

According to Lima City Engineer's Office, the intersection had a stop light that was removed sometime in 2012. Currently, it is a one way stop with a sign on Pierce Street. Public Works Director Howard Elstro says when the city gets notice of increased accidents in an area they will conduct a traffic study to see what could be factors causing the increased accidents.
