Members of the Wapakoneta community are taking a yellow brick road to a brighter learning environment. Heidi Paxson shows us what renovations the Wapak Library have made.

The Wapakoneta Library recently finished the renovations, an interactive reading wall being one of the changes. Beth Steiner, director of the Wapakoneta Library, says that the renovations were made to adapt to the changing needs of the local community.

"I hope that they find new reasons and uses for the space and more ways to come in and engage with people within the community, and just have a place to come and be together," said Steiner.

Steiner says that the library is still asking for donations and sponsorships so that they can wrap up the project within a month.

When the project is done, the Auglaize County Public Library District plans on updating some of their other libraries.

"We have been working on subtle changes at all six of our locations and we do have plans in place over the next few years to make changes at all of the different libraries depending on what is needed for the community," added Steiner.

The library district will review feedback for the renovations and plans to use that feedback when deciding on future projects.
