Congressman Jim Jordan is denying the allegations from former Ohio State University wrestlers who claim that Jordan was aware of sexual abuse of athletes going on at the university while Jordan was an assistant coach there.

Congressman Jordan was in Spencerville to meet with a church group that makes quilts for veterans in Allen and Putnam county. There Your Hometown Stations asked the Congressman more about those allegations made by Mike DiSabato and Dunyasha Yetts, former wrestlers for Ohio State. They say Jordan was in the know about sexual abuse committed by Dr. Richard Strauss, who they claim repeatedly molested athletes during check-ups.

"It’s absolutely untrue the things that of been said about me; if there had been any reports of abuse, I would’ve reported it, Coach [Russ] Hellickson said the same thing," Rep. Jordan said.

The investigation is being handled by Perkins Coie law firm; Congressman Jordan says that the firm's initial contact with him is not exactly how they claimed it to be.

"The law firm who is doing the investigation said that they tried to contact us and we wouldn’t respond - we have no record of that, and what we got from yesterday is that they sent the correspondence to an email that doesn’t exist," said Rep. Jordan.

The authenticity of the former wrestlers has also been put into question based on accusations and past criminal records. As of now, Jordan just says that he's ready to answer questions for the investigation - but does still have his doubts.

"All I can do is tell the truth, and we've said that we’re happy to sit down within the firm doing the investigation," Rep. Jordan said. "As I said though, I find it interesting that they can’t find a Congressman’s email address."

The University has said that they will continue to provide updates during and at the completion of the investigation.
