The Student Integrated Arts and Acting Filmmakers Bootcamp is now underway.

Students grades 6th through 12th are invited to join in on the 8-day program, learning the ins and outs of the film industry.

"We have tracks for the art skills, costuming, makeup, hair, set dress, and design. We also have tracks for the screenwriting track, directing, and then we also have management, producing, set operations, logistics," said Nick Kellis, President of Heartland Image Foundation.

While filmmaking might be a dream for most of these students, this program is teaching them to adjust their focus and think about the bigger picture.

"Managerial skills, I have the kids manage their own budget, it's only 150 bucks but they're going to be responsible for budgeting their film, scheduling, doing logistics. These are life skills and especially working together as a team, swallowing your ego finding a way to play nice in the sandbox, that translates to any profession anywhere and I think that's the most exciting thing we do this week," added Kellis.

The final step in the program is a 3-day shoot and edit intensive, where students are able to direct, edit, and shoot their own movie. And it's not too late to sign up. If you're interested in taking part in the group you can still register at www.heartlandimage.org/students.
