The City of Wapakoneta is preparing for some downtown renovations.

Wapakoneta's Riverscape plan intends to increase the visual appeal of the area surrounding the Auglaize River. Both Blecher and Heritage parks will see major facelifts including new pathways, a gazebo, and an arch in Heritage Park. The project costs a little over $2 million according to Mayor Tom Stinebaugh.

A grant from the Ohio Department of Transportation will take care of 95% of the project. The city will only have to pay around $110,000.
