Allen County Sheriff’s Office has uncovered some new details surrounding the homicide on E. 14th St., on Monday.

Just after 11 in the morning, Perry Township first responders were dispatched to 311 E. 14th St. It was there they found 65-year-old Van Youngblood unresponsive and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Upon further investigation, Allen County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Youngblood’s son, 31-year-old Timothy Van Youngblood, who has now been charged with murder.

"As of this morning after talking with the detectives we were told that Van Youngblood of 311 E. 14th was murdered by his son," said Treglia. "We have him in custody for murder, Timothy Youngblood, at this point in time."

Timothy resides on E. Market St. in Lima. The sheriff’s office is unsure of the reason for his visit to his parents home. Timothy’s mother Wilma was the one who made the 911 call. She was unharmed during the incident.

As of Tuesday afternoon, an arraignment has not yet been set for Timothy.

Sheriff Treglia said this is the first homicide the sheriff’s office has investigated this year.
