The Armstrong Air and Space Museum is beginning a search for a new executive director.

The association that oversees the museum says they have put Executive Director Chris Burton on notice that his contract will end in 60 days. If an agreement can not be reached, in September they will begin their search for his replacement. Burton has been executive director for around a decade. If a new executive director is hired, they will have to hit the ground running, overseeing the recently announced $3 million dollar expansion project, which will double the current classroom space and add new technology as well as updating some of the exhibits. That project is expected to be complete before the 50th anniversary of the moon landing next summer.

According to the Wapakoneta Daily News, Brittany Venturella has been named the interim director, until a new one is named.
