Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) has introduced legislation that will encourage auto companies to keep operations in the US.

The bill called American Cars, American Jobs Act proposes revoking a tax break to companies who move operations overseas. It would also impose a temporary $3,500 discount to customers buying cars that were made in America. Brown says the bill will encourage auto industry players to keep their operations in the US.

"In the end, it means more cars built here, more workers making cars here, more supplies bought in the supply chain, more product components made in the US, and it makes sense for our country," says Brown.

Brown introduced the legislation after General Motors announced they will build the new Chevy Blazer in Mexico on the same day they ended the second shift at the plant in Lordstown, Ohio.
