Local teens took the time to make sure other students' school year is off on the right foot.

Teen volunteers at Lima Memorial presented boxes full of essential school supplies for the Children's Developmental Center. The Dr. Seuss-themed boxes of supplies included items such as arts and crafts, snacks, and paper plates and towels. "We just reached out to the other teens that volunteered in the hospital and the community, and asked them to give some paper products and other products that the children can use during the school year," said Meredith Swick, a volunteer. "We collected paper towels, paper plates, some toys like Play-Doh and stuff, we also got an iPad and a speaker."

"These supplies are things that we use - they ask us for a list so we put out a list of things that we frequently use in the classroom, and as I mentioned, last year I think the products that were earned through the drive last us until about Christmas time, and I think this year, we'll go to Easter," said Chris Wagner, Executive Director at Children's Development Center.

The Children's Developmental Center of Lima serve kids from birth to school age, that may have special needs or assistance as they grown.
