Local churches are asking for the community's help in feeding those that need a little assistance to put a meal on their table.

Volunteers with the Churches United Pantry, known as "CUP", will be pushing grocery carts in the Allen County Fair parade this Sunday at 2 p.m. The pantry provides people with a 3-day supply of food once a month and is a partnership of ten area churches. All the food collected will stay right here in our community, stocking shelves at the Churches United Pantry on South Pierce Street.

"If you're going to be at the fair parade just bring a non-perishable food item or a monetary donation and when you see us coming down the streets with the grocery carts we'll just walk over to you and you just put them in the grocery cart and we'll take it from there," explained Trish McKinney, Forest Park UMC Mission Coordinator.

The donations will be taken to the pantry immediately following the parade. To learn more about CUP, go online at limacup.org.
