Local law enforcement and members of the Allen County Students Against Destructive Decisions took to the stage, spreading some awareness on drinking and driving.

Starting August 22nd through Labor Day weekend, law enforcement will be cracking down on drunk drivers during their "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign. They will have zero tolerance for people who are impaired behind the wheel. But it was the SADD and interact students that drove the point home by holding up signs that reminded people how drinking and driving is selfish and irresponsible. Between 2012 and 2016, on average 10,000 people die from impaired driving crashes across the country and the students want the public to know that there are consequences with drinking and driving and how that decision could end up being deadly.

During the 4 year period between 2012 and 2016, 43 people died in drunk driving accidents in Allen County alone and organizers say if they can prevent one person from dying or being seriously injured in a drunk driving accident, then their message was successful.
