A local elementary school is taking time out of their day to celebrate some special family members in their life.

The grandparents of students were invited to Heritage Elementary School for an afternoon of snacks and crafts. Students got to know their grandparents better through an interview and they got to see how the school has changed.

"The grandparents a lot of times, their kids are grown and they don't necessarily get to associate with Lima City Schools," says Asst. Principal Brian Fruchey. "It gives them an opportunity to come in and show them about the changes at school. We're getting out there and having fun at school as well as learning a lot of the curriculum things as well."
