From Friday (9/7/18) night on, Bath Local Schools will be keeping a seat open on their football field for veterans who cannot cheer with the rest of the crowd.

A POW-MIA Chair of Honor has been installed on the south end of the field and will sit empty in recognition of those soldiers who cannot come home. The chair is there thanks to Boy Scout Terry Blake of Troop 82, who wanted his Eagle Scout Service Project to show his appreciation for veterans.

"Veterans have always been really close to me," says Blake. "I have a lot of appreciation for what they've done for this nation and I have quite a few relatives in my family that have helped serve in the military and this is just something that was really close to my heart. It's just a way for us to be able to show our respect to the veterans that have made so much difference outside of our nation but have never really got their full spotlight."

Blake says he was able to make this possible with funds donated from local businesses.
