Putnam County recognizes their own

The Putnam County Historical Society opened a door to the past today at their annual meeting.

The gatherings seem to be a tradition for the village, considering that this one was the146th.

Today's meeting, held in the new Annex Building, had a focus on some of the famous people who came from Putnam County. Famous baseball players, governors, and other figures were both recognized and described.

Millie Ruen, the president of the Putnam County Historical Society says that these types of events are important to the community, and to those who visit.

I think history slips away from us and when we collect all of these items together from our distant past, it helps to bring that history back to everybody who comes and visits us

If you are interested in learning more about the Putnam County Museum, they are having an Ohio Open Doors tour on Sunday, September 16th from 1-4 p.m..
