Science enhancement for science advancement, also known as SESA, continues to provide hands-on learning in Lima.

Monday, second graders at Unity Elementary School got a lesson from the SESA program on animal habitats. The program helped the students learn about different species of birds, monkeys, and insects. This is just one kit presented by SESA which is sponsored by a handful of businesses in the Lima area. The program is offered to students in kindergarten to 8th grade to bring hands-on science to the classroom. The hope is the program drums up interests with the students to pursue a science career after graduation.

"These students, today, one of the things they pointed out, obviously is that you need food water shelter and air in order to be able to live," said the SESA Teacher In Residence, Kim Kidd. "So we tried to go over some different species of animals and what some of their unique adaptations were in order for them to be successful to love in their environment."
