As the deadline to finalize the House-Senate Farm Bill looms, the Conference Committee for the bill is working to iron out the differences in Washington.

Ohio U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown is on the committee, and he says that a big focus is on finding a middle ground between the Senate Bill and the House Bill. The first meeting for the Conference Committee was held on September 5th. Sen. Brown noted that the Senate passed the bill between both sides in a way that he hasn't seen for a while, but the work isn't over with the farm bill.

"The House was very partisan when they passed the bill, the Senate was very bipartisan," said Sen. Brown "I’m hopeful that we can get this bill to the president by the end of the month, the law expires on September 30th and we shouldn’t be playing around, we should get it done."
