New liquor permits requested in the City of Lima Monday night.

Lima Council members talked about how the owner of the building on W. High Street, where Mulligan's Bar sits, has applied for a new liquor license. They said Mulligan's will be closing on Saturday and re-opening at a later date at 702 W. North Street, where the old Mark Pi's China Gate sits. Council also approved a request from Jameson Manor for a liquor license, which the owner told us, will greatly boost her business.

"We would love to not have to bring in alcohol ourselves," said owner Shannon Wannemacher. "We would love for that to already be set up and in place and ready to go prior to our event starting. The fact that we will be able to offer that now as a service is just really exciting."

Council heard of a change of zoning at Central Point Parkway to allow a building on the lot that can be leased for a Family Dollar and requests to change the zoning of an empty lot on Cole Street and Brower Road, to soon see a gas station and convenience store. Councilor Sam McLean announced a grand opening date for his new 318 Restaurant and Bar" with Ray Magnus, to be at noon on September 21st with a ribbon cutting.

Correction/Update: We mentioned N. West Street in error. The re-opening will be on W. North Street.
