Break out your lederhosen and get ready to raise your favorite beverage, because the village of Minster is getting back to its German roots for Oktoberfest.
This is the 44th year for the three day festival. Whether you like German food, fun games or Oktoberfest has something for everyone at every age. The festival is a great fundraiser for different area organizations who man the many food and game booths throughout the event. But more importantly, it is a great meeting place for thousands of people who come back to Minster or are visiting the village for the first time.
“This is the reunion weekend, you know, everybody likes to come back to Minster,” says Paul Enneking, Pres. 44th Annual Minster Oktoberfest “It doesn’t matter if you are born and raised in Minster, lived here for a year, a month or a day, when you come to Oktoberfest you feel like they are from Minster. They feel like they are lifelong residents. You don’t have to go very far to find a good conversation with someone you have never met before.”
Oktoberfest ends the festival Sunday with the annual 10 K run and parade at 2 p.m. with grand marshal, Father Rick Nieberding.
