For the 19th year, you can drive around Lima and find trees planted in honor of domestic violence awareness month.

Thursday, Crossroads Crisis Center partnered with United Way and planted a tree in front of United Way's building on S. Collett Street. The trees are in remembrance of those that are victims and survivors of domestic violence. "It means the world to the agency because the community recognizes the importance of domestic violence in our community," said Ann Jenkins, President of the Crossroads board of trustees. "Just trying to eliminate it, trying to get that awareness out there that it's not a good thing. It's not good for the families it's not good for the children."

You can see other trees planted in locations such as children services, the sheriff's office or right here in front of Hometown Stations.
