With Election Day right around the corner, the Hancock and Hardin County Republicans are traveling the area on what they call their 'rock band bus', in a final effort to reach young voters.

The group started out in Kenton, with their second stop out of 10, in Ada, Ohio at Ohio Northern University. They stopped for coffee to meet with students before going door to door to promote local Republican candidates.

State Representative Candidate for the 83rd District, Jon Cross who's running against Democrat Mary Harshfield, says it's important to talk to all voters, but is looking to talk to the College Republicans to discuss their futures.

"I've seen a lot of what interaction can do when campaigning, or when spreading information on our events specifically. It's helped a lot, so it's really kind of shaped me I think," says PR manager of the ONU College Republicans, Cassidy Deckling.

"For my campaign, part of our theme is connecting with communities, so we have been to every village and every community multiple times. That's something we're going to continue to do. It doesn't stop, because part of the job is staying connected with the people and connected to the community," says Cross.

Tim Striker, who is running for Hardin County Commissioner against Democrat Ron Eastman,  shares the same theme as Cross.

"Hardin country tends to have a lot of the youth leave the community and we're going to work on in the future keeping them in the community. We'd like to keep the younger people here and the educated here and work on that," says Striker.

The candidates rounded off the tour on Saturday back in Kenton.
