Monday night, officers in Findlay responded to a theft-in-progress at Dick's Sporting Goods. Findlay police say a man got away in a car before they found him and tried to stop him on Tiffin Avenue.

The car sped off onto North Blanchard Street before turning westbound on Walnut Street. The driver lost control, striking a utility pole and then a minivan. The minivan's driver was not injured. The female driver and suspect in the first car were taken and treated at Blanchard Valley Hospital for minor injuries. The driver, 51-year-old Vita Warren, was taken into custody on felony fleeing and eluding, felony drug possession, drug paraphernalia, and complicity to theft. The male suspect, 40-year-old Gregory Nevers, was charged with felony theft.

All the stolen property was recovered by officers. Both suspects are from Detroit and were held at the Hancock County Justice Center for their charges.
