The K-Kids at Unity Elementary spent part of their morning cleaning up around the school.

They picked up trash on the playground, near the street, and all around the building. The K-Kids partnered with Adopt-A-Roadway and were able to adopt the street in front of their school. The leadership group decided they wanted to do some school service and thought cleaning up the school would be a great idea.

Sarah Zeller, the school's social worker and K-Kids advisor says, "It's important that we teach our kids not only to come to school to learn but to be a big part of our school and take pride in our community and help out."

The group has also been working on some houses for Family Promise, as well as gearing up with some items for the holidays.

K-Kids is one of the student organizations affiliated with the Lima Kiwanis Club.
