One Lima department is getting a change of scenery.

Wednesday the move-in day for the rest of the City of Lima's law department. Last year the criminal division moved into the second floor of 200 E. High Street, the same building that houses the Regional Transit Authority. Wednesday, the civil division moved into the third floor of the same building.

Law Director Tony Geiger said he believes this is the first time that the entire law department has been housed in the same building. The beneficial part of the move, Geiger said, was they were able to purge many books that aren't needed anymore and have gone almost completely digital.

"We're really excited about it," said Geiger. "It'll be a lot more efficient for us, we're a half block away from municipal court and the municipal building. It's an ideal location and we're very happy and we appreciate council and the administration supporting us in this move."

Geiger added the civil division was housed in their Main Street location for the last 18 years.
