Once again Lima Central Catholic is honoring local veterans.

For the second year in a row, LCC held their Veterans Day program, on Thursday. Veterans and active service members were invited to the school for mass this morning followed by a complimentary lunch. Students joined their grandparents, parents, neighbors or whomever during the festivities. Around 50 veterans attended the event. Principal Stephanie Williams said it's just a nice way to honor those men and women. Williams even got to sit with her father at mass and said it was special to share a unique day.

"We need to honor them and this is a wonderful way to do that," Williams said. "Also I think it's great for our students to see that military is an option for them after high school. This is just something small that we can do as a community to thank them for their time and their commitment."

Veteran's Day is observed on Monday November 12.
