Today students at Lima Senior High School got the chance to put Newton's Laws in action through various hands-on activities.

This afternoon students in Hunter Bell's science class had the chance to participate in five different hot wheels activities to demonstrate the three Newton Laws of Motion. The three Newton laws explain how objects in motion stay in motion, actions have equal and opposite reactions and how external forces affect objects.

Bell said the activities were important because it helps students understand how things work and the impact that gravity has on objects.

"We just did book work and questions and they knew the material, but when I gave them the quiz they couldn’t prove it back to me," said Bell. "But I knew that they knew it. So making them do this is a way that they can prove it to me on paper. Because the knowledge is in their head but the only way to know that they know is is to have proof."

The students seemed to enjoy taking what they learned and apply it to a fun activity. Along with learning the Laws of Motion, students also learned that science can be fun.
