Instead of stressing about the upcoming finals week, today students at Ohio State Lima had the opportunity to de-stress with one of man's best friends.

Therapy dogs helped brighten the day of many students at the Ohio State Lima campus today. As apart of Stress Less Week, students had the opportunity to relieve stress by petting therapy dogs from Lima Memorial Health System.

"Stress is apart of college, especially when we come up again final exams,” said Samantha Haudenschield, Ohio State Lima counseling services coordinator. “So we try to teach our students or help them learn to manage that stress to cope with it. Dogs are a great way to do that. The dogs lower stress, they bring up levels of good hormones, they make you feel happier and it’s a break in the day. It breaks up the studying and students really like to see them when they come out every fall.”

Stress Less Week is always held at Ohio State Lima the week before final exams in the fall. It is a week full of other activities which include a free choir concert and a new student orientation.
