The holidays can be stressful for many, but for someone with disabilities, it can become terrifying.

That is why the West Central Ohio Abilities Collaborative along with the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities is hosting a Sensitive Santa Night. It's a chance for children with autism and other disabilities to visit with Santa on their own terms. They take time to make sure it's a sensory-friendly environment for all to enjoy.

"Because when you have sensory impairments or sensory differences because of a disability, sometimes those fun experiences aren't so fun and so we want this to be something that kids can enjoy that piece of the holiday without it being a sensory challenge to them," said Jennifer Slechter, WCO Abilities Collaborative.

The Sensitive Santa Night will be Friday, December 14th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marimor gymnasium. They will also have crafts, snacks, and appropriate music for those attending. The event is free and open to all children with special needs.
