Weather Discussion

Today's Forecast

Today's Forecast Image
  • 88°
  • 70°

Hot and humid conditions are set to return today with temperatures pushing into the upper 80s. Winds will pick up this afternoon out of the southwest with gusts of 20-25 MPH likely. Skies should remain mostly cloudy, which will limit how high our temps get. An isolated shower cannot be ruled out during the day, but the chances go up later in the evening and especially the overnight hours as a cold front approaches.

Rain and a few storms are likely after midnight tonight through the latter half of the afternoon Friday. A stronger storm capable of strong wind gusts cannot be ruled out as the entire area falls under a Marginal Risk for severe weather on Friday. The biggest threat will be heavy rain with some areas possibly seeing more than 2" of rainfall, which could lead to isolated instances of flooding. Temperatures will hover near 70° and rebound to near 80° tomorrow.

The cold front will push through Friday evening, resulting in much cooler and drier air this weekend and next week. In fact, temperatures will remain in the lower and middle 70s from Saturday until Wednesday. Each day during that stretch looks partly cloudy with a chance here and there of a few showers. Overnight lows will be in the low and middle 50s, which is 5-10° below normal for late June.
