They say you can't go home again, but after a 12-year tour of the upper Midwest, I am happy to have proved them wrong. The great state of Ohio is where I belong! I am a Hamler native (home of the Summerfest). I graduated from Patrick Henry High School and The Ohio State University. Plus, I got my start in television as a sports producer at the ABC/FOX station in Columbus. It is very exciting for me to now help lead the sports department at a TV station that I grew up watching.
I realize that I took the long way from Columbus to Lima. My journey through television sports took me to Marquette, in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of "that state up north", and then south of the mighty Mackinac Bridge to a pair of stations in the Traverse City area. I spent nearly a year in Las Vegas, enjoying some "me time" and working on a pair of documentaries with friends. Immediately before coming home to northwest Ohio, I was the sports director at a station in Wisconsin. These travels have certainly been worthwhile. I have covered 2 Super Bowls, the Major League Baseball playoffs, #1 Ohio State vs. #2 Michigan in 2006, the NHL & NBA, college athletics of all types at all levels, racing, ski-jumping, professional wrestling, the rodeo…you name it, I probably have a story about it! Most importantly, it was in Traverse City that I met a beautiful young lady named Jessi whom I later proposed to in Wisconsin and married in Las Vegas. We now have two wonderful children who were born right here in Lima...making it feel even more like home!
If you have a story idea, please drop me a note!
