Delphos St Johns puts the fun in fundraiser during their annual Fall Festival.
The festival is the biggest moneymaker for the school and the parish, bringing in between $100,000 and $200,000 each year. Kids and adults got to try their luck at many games and raffles. But the one place where everybody is a winner is with the beef and chicken dinners. The kitchen crew was hard a work dishing out over 6,000 dinners over the two-day event. The fall festival has been going on for 107 years and doesn’t look like it is going to stop as generations upon generations continue the tradition of supporting St. Johns.
“Now watching from our little kids coming in and watching their parents and seeing that they were part of what this is,” says Jeff Swick, Delphos St. Johns Director of Advancement. “It is part of what we do as a family. They say here it’s the Blue Jay family and I think that is very true. Not only to bring back not only alumni, parishioners and family members to join as one for this long weekend.”
Swick says what makes this weekend a success are the sponsors that donate the food and prizes that make the fall festival something to come back to.
