A Botkins man is dead after a two-car crash in Mercer County Wednesday night.
Wapakoneta troopers say Jordan Fledderjohann, 26 died at Mercer Health in Coldwater and that he was heading west on Clover Four Road and ran the stop sign at U.S. 127. Fledderjohann’s car was hit by Jessica Zapata, 23 of Texas who was heading north on U.S. 127.
Fledderjohann was ejected from his car after it struck a ditch and flipped over. Zapata’s car also ended up in the ditch. She and a six-year-old girl were taken to the Mercer Health with non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers say Fledderjohann was not wearing a seat belt, and the crash remains under investigation.

Wapakoneta Post Investigating a Two Vehicle Fatal Traffic Crash at the Intersection of US Route 127 and Clover Four Road.
Celina, Ohio – Troopers from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday evening September 11, 2019, at the intersection of U.S. Route 127 and Cover Four Road in Mercer County.
Through the investigation, it was found that a maroon 2019 Chevrolet Silverado was being driven westbound on Clover Four Road by Jordan E. Fledderjohann, age 26 of Botkins, Ohio. A white 2012 Nissan Frontier was being driven northbound on U.S. Route 127 by Jessica Zapata, age 23 of Weslaco, Texas. The Fledderjohann vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and was struck by the Zapata vehicle. The Fledderjohann vehicle traveled off the road northwest of the intersection, struck the ditch, and overturned, ejecting Mr. Fledderjohann. The Zapata vehicle traveled off the road northwest of the intersection into the ditch. Both vehicles sustained severe damage.
Jordan E. Fedderjohann was transported to Mercer Health Mercer County Community Hospital with life-threatening injuries by Coldwater EMS. He was pronounced deceased at Mercer Health Mercer County Community Hospital.
Jessica Zapata and her passenger Andrea Garza, age 6 of Weslaco, Texas, were transported to Mercer Health Mercer County Community Hospital for non-life threatening injuries by Coldwater EMS.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Coldwater Fire and EMS, Montezuma Fire Department, and the Mercer County Emergency Response Volunteers.
Jordan E. Fedderjohann was not wearing a properly adjusted seatbelt. Jessica Zapata was wearing a seat belt. Mrs. Zapata’s passenger Andrea Garza was not wearing a seat belt. Alcohol is not suspected in this crash. The crash remains under investigation.
