The unpacking, sorting, and pricing has begun for an annual book fair, and donations are now being accepted.
More than 100-thousand books will be for sale at the American Association of University Women's Book Fair at a new location. This year’s book fair will be at the old Autozone store at the corner of Elida road and Homeward. The AAUW has held the fair for more than 50 years as a fundraiser for scholarships and camps allowing young women to continue their education. While the book fair isn't until early September the preparation takes many weeks.
Last year’s sale earned $19,000 to go toward scholarships and camps. You can drop donations off at 2008 Elida Road Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9 am to noon and Wednesday evenings 5 to 8 pm through August 22nd. They accept any type of hardback or paperback books, records, DVD's, music, textbooks no older than 5 years old, jigsaw puzzles, board games, and computer games. You can find out more on Facebook by searching the AAUW Lima Annual Book Sale.
