All counties in West Central Ohio see drops in unemployment numbers

All counties in West Central Ohio saw drops in unemployment numbers for the month of October. According to the Ohio Department Job and Family Services, Allen County has the highest unemployment rate in our area but also saw the biggest fall, going from 6.1% in September to 4.2% in October. Putnam County has the lowest unemployment number in the region at 2.5%. Hardin County fell one percent last month for the second largest fall in West Central Ohio. While the unemployment rate stayed flat nationwide, the State of Ohio went up from 4.6% in September to 5.1% in October.

  • Hancock — October unemployment = 3.3%/ September unemployment = 3.8%
  • Hardin — October unemployment = 4.1% / September unemployment = 5.1%
  • Logan — October unemployment = 3.4% / September unemployment = 4.0%
  • Shelby — October unemployment = 3.4% / September unemployment = 4.1%
  • Van Wert — October unemployment = 3.2% / September unemployment = 3.7%
  • Paulding — October unemployment = 3.4% / September unemployment = 4.2%
  • Ohio — October unemployment = 5.1% / September unemployment = 4.6%
  • U.S. — October unemployment = 4.6% / September unemployment = 4.6%
