Singer, songwriter, and producer Parrice Smith has joined forces with Lima City Councilman Derry Glenn to motivate and inspire the local community.

During the upcoming Hometown Heroes Recognition event, Smith will talk about his experience working in the music industry. Smith is Lima native who graduated from Elida High School, and his work has been featured on the 2023 Southeast Emmy award-winning People Get Ready project in the outstanding arrangement and composition category. Smith has collaborated with artists such as Skip Martin and Stevie Wonder.

Smith and Glenn hope to inspire local youth by demonstrating that anything is possible through hard work.

"I’m thankful - I wouldn’t trade anything for the world," Smith said. "The music industry has been what’s taken care of me and kept me out of trouble my whole life, and they say that gift will make room for you and bring you amongst great men, and I guess that I am a testament to that."

The Hometown Heroes Recognition event will be held at the City Club at 7 Town Square on Saturday, October 7th. A red carpet event will kick off at 5 pm with showtime at 6.

They are asking for a ten dollar donation that will go towards the Parrice Cares Foundation.
