The third phase of the Elm Street Grade Separation project is underway as construction crews shut down Bellefontaine Avenue on Monday.
Crews were putting the road closed signs in place as they get ready to build the roundabout in that location. When built, it'll be used for traffic coming off of Elm Street and Bellefontaine and Calumet Avenues. There's an access road that drivers can use while construction is going on, but the City of Lima is asking drivers to find a different route to avoid heavy traffic in the area. People can get to the businesses in the area, from the west side of the construction project. The city says Bellefontaine Avenue will be closed until the end of June 2020.
