A Celina woman is now in the hospital after being hit by an ATV outside of her home.

Mercer County Central Dispatch was called to the 7500 block of Burrville Road around 5:30 on Tuesday. According to the Mercer County Sherrif's Office, off-duty Mercer County deputy Carla Baucher, and her children were riding on an ATV outside their home. But, at some point, Baucher's son tried to get off the ATV but fell on the accelerator. The ATV ultimately hit Mary Stachler, Baucher's aunt. It then crashed into the garage area of the home.

Stachler was first transported to Mercer Health and later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital. Baucher and her son have minor injuries and did not receive treatment. The Mercer County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the incident.

Celina, OH-Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports his office is investigating an incident that occurred at the residence of 7515 Burrville Road, Celina.  Mercer County Central Dispatch received the call at 5:24 PM on Tuesday, July 16.

Carla Baucher, an off-duty Mercer County deputy sheriff, age 28, was giving her two children a ride on a Polaris Ranger ATV on the property of the residence.  Baucher’s 2 ½ year old son attempted to exit the ATV and fell onto the accelerator.  The ATV then struck 73 year old Mary J. Stachler and crashed into the garage area of the residence.  Mrs. Stachler, who lives at the residence, is Baucher’s husband’s aunt.  Baucher and her son sustained minor injuries but were not treated.

Mrs. Stachler was transported to Mercer Health by the Celina branch of the Mercer County EMS and later transfer to Miami Valley Hospital.

Once the investigation is complete, it will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
