Trooper Chad Recker

Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Chad A. Recker has been selected 2019 Trooper of the Year at the Lima Post.

The selection of Trooper Recker, 24, is in recognition of outstanding service during 2019 at the Lima Post. Fellow officers stationed at Lima Post chose Trooper Recker based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers, and the public.

Trooper Recker is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.

Trooper Recker joined the Highway Patrol in 2014 as a dispatcher and was assigned to the Van Wert Post. In 2016, he graduated from the Highway Patrol Academy as a trooper and was assigned to the Lima Post. Originally from Fort Jennings, Trooper Recker is a 2013 graduate of Fort Jennings High School. Other Highway Patrol awards received in the past include: ACE award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement in in 2017 and 2018, Criminal Patrol award in 2017 and 2018, Safe Driving award, and a certificate of recognition for saving the life of an infant in 2019.

Trooper Recker and his wife, Andrea, reside in Fort Jennings.
