A Celina man is now in jail after sheriff's deputies found drugs on him during a traffic stop on Monday.

What started off as just a traffic stop for 32-year-old Tyler Weitz, quickly escalated to a drug search, according to Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey. After conducting a K-9 free air narcotic sniff and a frisk, the Heroin Interdiction Team discovered a syringe and heroin. Weitz was then arrested and sent to the Mercer County Detention Facility where he is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

This is not his first encounter with the law. He was previously charged with possession of drugs, possession of heroin, and possession of drug abuse instruments.
