Press Release from the Delphos Police Department
On 5-14-2019 officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Marsh Ave, to investigate a Burglary complaint. Officers met with the complainant and found that a back patio door glass had been broken out at the vacant residence. It is suspected that a previous tenant at the residence caused the damage. The incident remains under investigation.
On 5-14-2019 officers responded to the 900 block of Superior St, in reference to a dispute. Officers arrived and spoke with a male and female at the residence, who are brother and sister. Both stated that they had a disagreement, but that no physical violence had taken place. No charges were filed at this time.
On 5-17-2019 an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing t it being operated by the registered owner, Jodi O’Dell. The officer had knowledge that O’Dell’s driving status was suspended for a License Forfeiture suspension. O’Dell was issued a citation and will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charge.
On 5-18-2019 officers were sent to the 400 block of N. Washington St, to investigate a suspicious vehicle parked in the area with three occupants. Officers arrived and made contact with the three males, all juveniles, and found them all to be intoxicated. The juveniles were taken back to the police department where their parents were contacted. The juveniles were released to their parents and will each be charged with underage consumption of alcohol. They will appear in Juvenile Court at a later date.
On 5-20-2019 officers took a report of a missing juvenile. The juveniles’ grandmother reported that her grandson was three hours late in returning home. The juvenile was entered into a law enforcement database as a missing juvenile. Officers were later notified that the juvenile was found and was safe.
On 5-20-2019 officers were sent to investigate a vehicle at the back of Stadium Park. Officers arrived and found a vehicle stuck in the mud. The driver was attempting to exit the park onto Pohlman Rd, but was blocked by the gate. The driver attempted to turn around but got stuck causing damage to the grass lot. Officers wrote a report and received the drivers’ insurance information in case the yard needs repaired.
On 5-20-2019 officers took a report from an 18 year old female who stated that her father was harassing her and following her around, interfering with her employment. The female was advised of her options, including filing for a civil protection order.
On 5-21-2019 officers were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Canal St, in reference to a suspicious person in the area. Officers arrived and located a male lying on the steps at a residence. The male, 19 year old Hunter Bowersox, was found to be highly impaired on prescription medication. Bowersox was taken into custody and charged with Persistent Disorderly Conduct.
On 5-21-2019 a male came to the police department claiming to have received knowledge of possible child neglect. The male advised officers of the details of his claim and the address where the incident took place. Officers wrote a report and forwarded it to Children’s Services for follow-up investigation.
