The Delphos Police calls for the time period of May 28th to June 7th
On 5-28-2019 officers responded to the 600 block of Suthoff St, to investigate an altercation. Officers arrived and spoke with multiple people who were either witnesses or involved in the verbal altercation. After speaking with each person it was determined that no physical violence had occurred. A juvenile at the scene will be charged with Menacing, as she was making threats and provoking a fight.
On 5-30-2019 officers were contacted to provide mutual aid assistance at a roll over crash on US 30. Officers arrived and met with the victim and witnesses to the crash. Witnesses provided information that the male driver was seen leaving the scene on foot, but returned a short time later. Delphos K-9 unit was requested to conduct an article search where the driver was seen fleeing to. During the track, K-9 Kratos located several items of illegal narcotics. These items were turned over to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, as they were conducting the investigation.
On 5-31-2019 officers spoke with a male in the 1000 block of N. Main St, who wished to file a report. The complainant told officers that he had video footage of a male who was on his porch. No crime was committed, but the complainant wishes to have a Criminal Trespass filed on the male if his identity is determined.
On 5-31-2019 officers spoke with a male who wished to report a Theft. The male told officers that an unknown person had made a purchase using his debit card account number without his permission. The incident remains under investigation.
On 6-1-2019 officers met with a male in reference to his son being assaulted. The male told officers that his son works in the 200 block of W. 5th St, and upon leaving work, was confronted by another male who demanded he give him his shoes. The victim refused and a physical altercation ensued. The case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau for further investigation.
On 6-1-2019 officers received a call about a disturbance behind an establishment in the 100 block of E. 2nd St. Officers arrived and located several people who stated that a male was intoxicated an attempting to fight people. Officers spoke with the male subject and found that he was highly intoxicated. Officers gave the male several opportunities to leave the establishment, but he refused and continued to be verbally abusive to bystanders. At that time the male, 41 year old Scott Hampton, of Delphos, was placed under arrest for Persistent Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Allen County Jail. Hampton will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charge.
On 6-1-2019 officers were sent to the 300 block of S. Jefferson St, for a male who was threatening to harm himself. Officers arrived and located the male who voluntarily requested to be transported to the hospital. Delphos EMS responded and transported the male.
On 6-1-2019 officers met with a couple at Stadium Park who reported that damage was done to their vehicle. Officers spoke with the male who had caused the damage and he advised that it was done accidentally and that he would pay for repairs.
On 6-1-2019 officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lima Ave, in reference to a Criminal Damage complaint. A female at that location reported that someone, at an unknown time, damaged the door handle on her vehicle. It did not appear that anyone gained entry into her vehicle as nothing was missing.
On 6-5-2019 an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing a male, 40 year old Kristopher Slygh, of Delphos, operating the vehicle. The officer had prior knowledge the Slygh had a suspended driver’s license. Slygh was issued a citation for a Non-Compliance suspension and will appear in Van Wert Municipal Court to face the charge.
On 6-5-2019 officers took a report from a male in the 200 block of E. 5th St. The male told officers that he was assaulted by a female with whom he resides. Officers spoke with both parties along with an independent witness. The report will be reviewed for possible charges.
On 6-7-2019 officers were dispatched to a Domestic Disturbance in the 300 block of S. Main St. Officers arrived and spoke with a female and her boyfriend. Each person had a different account of the altercation and neither wished to pursue charges. The female left the residence with a friend for the evening.
