PRESS RELEASE FROM THE FINDLAY POLICE DEPARTMENT - 12:44 am

Findlay Police Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for several traffic violations in the 600 block of S. Main St. The male driver refused to stop and led Officers on a 5-minute pursuit through the W. Lima St. and W. Hardin St. area that covered 2.7 miles. Speeds were in excess of 60 M.P.H. and the suspect failed to stop for several stop signs. At the intersection of Western Ave. and W. Lima St. the vehicle was E/B on W. Lima St approaching the stop sign at Western Ave. A marked Findlay Police Cruiser was S/B on Western Ave. at that time when the suspect disregarded the stop sign and struck the rear passenger side of the police cruiser. The suspect continued on and abandoned the vehicle in the 800 block of Hurd Ave. The suspect fled on foot and was not located. No one was injured. The investigation is on-going.
