If you are thinking about maybe going camping over the Labor Day weekend, you may be out of luck.
Campgrounds like Grand Lake St. Marys State Park are already full for the unofficial end of summer holiday. Following a rainy start to the camping season, park officials says the campground has been a popular getaway for people over the summer. With the average microcystin levels dropping to levels that haven't been seen for around seven years, boaters and campers are enjoying what Grand Lake St. Marys has to offer.
“With the new additions that's been made over the last five years or so, there's plenty for people to do and they're really enjoying themselves in the new pool and the gaga ball pit, both things that were added last year,” said David Faler, Grand Lake St. Marys State Park Manager.
After a packed campground for Labor Day, Faler is expecting another one the following weekend for their annual Fall Fest. The campgrounds will be filled with food and activities and everything gets started the night of September 6th.
