A Lima man accused of rape will have to wait a bit longer for his trial.
35-year-old John Kehoe appeared in Allen County Common Pleas Court this morning to sign a time waiver. Kehoe waived his right to have a speedy trial and his new trial date is set for September 3. He has already pleaded not guilty to three counts of rape.
According to the indictment all three counts happened in January of this year involving the same female victim. Kehoe was arrested after the victim went to the hospital and samples were taken. The results of a test matched his DNA.
He remains to be held on a $200,000 bond.
