One of the busiest holiday weekends saw some positive results.
A report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol says there were fewer deaths this Memorial Day weekend than last year on the road. There were 12 deaths reported this holiday weekend and 18 reported last year. Failure to wear a seat belt, driving while under the influence, and not wearing a helmet were some of the factors involved in these deaths. There have been a total of 387 confirmed Ohio roadway deaths so far this year.
A Click It or Ticket campaign is running now until June 2nd and troopers are encouraging drivers to continue to wear their seat belts.
