A Minster man was sentenced to nearly two decades in prison for two separate incidents at the Mercer County Jail.
23-year-old Zequiel Ahrns was sentenced to 18 years after pleading guilty to two counts of kidnapping, two counts of assault, and one count of escape. The charges stem from providing drugs to another inmate at the Mercer County Jail that overdosed on March 20th, 2019. It took 6 doses of Narcan to revive the inmate. Then a five days later he attacked two corrections officers, took control of their tasers, and attempted to escape. He was captured before he left the facility.
