All the T's are crossed and I's are dotted that will give the Allen County Department of Jobs and Family Services a new home.
Allen County Commissioners approving a resolution allowing Jobs and Family Services to enter into a contract with Lima Memorial Health System for a 25-year lease on the building currently housing the Heart Institute of Western Ohio. The agreement is for $7.6-million dollars over the 25-year agreement with a "one-dollar purchase option" at the end of the lease. The approval had to come through the commissioners as they are the fiscal agent for Jobs and Family Services but they do not fund them.
"These are state and federal funds that we are given to operate our programs for Job and Family Services and Ohio Means Jobs and it operates independent of the county budget," explained Joe Patton, Allen County Job and Family Services Director.
Ohio Means Jobs Allen County offices will also be moving. Patton says they will finish out their lease at the South Dixie location and make the move in January of 2020. The Heart Institute will be relocating back onto the Lima Memorial campus.
