Press Release from the Rockford Police Department

On Sunday, August 4th, Rockford Police received a call of a Domestic Incident. Officers met with the reporting party and learned that Kevin McDonald ( 38 ) at 509 S. Main Street in Rockford had been drinking and arguing with his wife. While investigating the nature of the argument with his wife, Mr. McDonald reportedly walked outside with a shotgun. Officers from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Celina and Coldwater Police Departments responded to the area.

A short time later Mr. McDonald began walking up Main Street without a firearm and was taken into protective custody with out incident by Rockford Police. Mr. McDonald has been charged with Inducing Panic and is currently being held in Mercer County Jail.

The Rockford Police would like to thank Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Celina Police Department, Coldwater Police Department, Rockford E.M.S. and Mercer County Sheriff’s Dispatchers for rapid response and professionalism during this rapidly developing incident.
