12/11/19 Your News Now Noon Edition: A Tennessee man is sitting in a jail cell after leading several law agencies on a chase through three counties last night.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 38-year-old Larry Keith was wanted on a felony warrant when he was spotted by Toledo police heading south on the interstate in an RV. Perrysburg Township police tried to pull Keith over but he allegedly kept going with Bowling Green troopers close behind. Hitting speeds of 80 miles per hour, the chase went through Wood, Hancock, and Allen counties, where Lima troopers were able to flatten the tires with stop sticks. Troopers say Keith finally pulled over on the interstate near Lima, and was arrested after a brief standoff. He was taken to Lima Memorial for treatment of a medical condition. He's in a Wood County jail now facing a failure to comply count and a gun charge.
12/11/2019 Media Release from Bowling Green OSHP Post: Perrysburg Township – On December 10, 2019, at approximately 10:49 P.M., Troopers from the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to IR 75 after being notified by the Toledo Police Department that they had been in pursuit of a 2000 Hurricane RV, which was occupied by a subject with a felony warrant. The Toledo Police Department terminated their pursuit.
Officers from the Perrysburg Township Police Department located the RV traveling south on IR 75 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the driver failed to stop. The pursuit continued south of SR 582, where Troopers from the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol took over the pursuit.
The pursuit covered approximately 62 miles on IR 75 through Wood County, Hancock County and Allen County. The top speed of the pursuit was 80 miles per hour. All the tires on the RV except the left rear were deflated by spike strips set out by Troopers from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The driver pulled over on his own near mile post 125 in Lima, where he was taken into custody after a brief standoff.
The driver was identified Larry D. Keith Jr., 38 years of age, of Maryville, Tennessee. He was transported to Lima Memorial by EMS for evaluation of a medical condition. Upon his release from the hospital, he was transported to the Wood County Justice Center, where he was incarcerated on charges of failure to comply and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted during the pursuit by the Perrysburg Township Police Department, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Findlay Police Department, Allen County Sheriff’s Department and Beaverdam Fleet Towing.
