A St. Marys man is behind bars after being accused of shooting multiple times into an occupied home in Celina.

Celina police say at 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, officers were notified of shots fired into a home on Touvelle Street, when they found a house trailer had been shot five times. They found the resident, 41-year-old Walter Mabry III, who denied knowing what was going on and that he was asleep at the time.

At 2 a.m. Thursday, St. Marys police made observations during a traffic stop and with details from Celina police, developed probable cause for a search warrant. Celina and St Marys police found a handgun with ammunition suspected to have been used in Wednesday morning's shooting, in his home at Augusta Street in St Marys. The suspect, 22-year-old Joseph Meinerding was arrested and booked into the Mercer County Jail on felonious assault. He's being held on a $100,000 bond and pending formal charges by the Mercer County prosecutor.
