LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima's UAW hosted their 5th annual Veterans Car Show Saturday afternoon.
Over 50 unique rides, old and new, were parked out at the Reineke dealership to draw in a crowd to raise money. Funds from registration, raffles, and food sales go directly to the Veterans Food Pantry in Lima.
Organizers say that on average, the show raises between $4,000 to $6,000 for the food pantry each year. These large donations are made possible by the giving spirits that many car enthusiasts are known for.
"Car people are just very generous people, and many of them are veterans. They've served in the armed services so they support the cause and they like showing their cars off, like the beautiful car going by now," said UAW Local 1219 president, Jeff Adams.
When the weather cooperates, the Veterans Car Show usually brings out over 100 vehicles every year.
